What would you consider your stand out skill?
My standout skill is probably creative implementation. I love coming up with ideas for ways to solve problems for people, and then putting these into practice with others. Skillab was a good demonstration of this. I saw that there was a community who wanted to learn to code, or at least understand more about code, but who were struggling with the self motivation needed for online courses. Skillab was a solution to this, an affordable introduction to programming, adding the social element to the fantastic resources online.
What’s been your journey into tech?
After graduating, I spent some time working with various social enterprise start-ups, and decided that I wanted to do something similar myself. I was drawn to the technology world because of how vibrant and exciting it seemed, so Skillab was the natural result.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself continuing to work on interesting projects relating to my fields of interest - technology, education and design. I may start up and run a business full time, or I may work with others - either way I hope to be making a meaningful difference with my work.
What else do you get up to?
I have an obsession for learning new things, be that the history of South Sudan or swing dancing. I am off surfing tomorrow to try and master the waves instead of the keyboard. I'll let you know how it goes!
