Reporting to: Community Programmes Manager
APPLY FOR THIS JOB!
About you
You are a problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You relate to people easily. You pride yourself on being organised, disciplined and ahead of the game. You do not shy away from asking questions and you are considerate and aware of the impact your work and behaviour has on the rest of the team.

You’ll see this as an opportunity to really get inside the workings of the tech world, build your tech and entrepreneurial network, and deliver on a laudable mission of getting more women into the industry and positively impact their careers.

You are likely to be a graduate with 2+ years’ experience or equivalent. No direct tech industry experience is needed but some previous coding experience (either with us or another training provider) would be an advantage. Interest in tech is essential, and displaying curiosity, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic will stand you in good stead.

About the role
You will set-up, run and wrap-up your own portfolio of UK-wide coding courses each term. You will also be involved in our community events, including our flagship annual conference and activities related to our awards and mentoring programmes, as well as running social media campaigns and drafting our newsletter.

Day-to-day, you are the first point of contact for our volunteer instructors, our students, and our course hosts which include colleges, universities and corporate companies up and down the UK. The experience you provide for all our partners - students, instructors, and course hosts - is critical to delivering on our mission. So you actively seek and are open to regular feedback on how things can be better and what you can do to help. Good customer service is important to you, and you are comfortable dealing with challenging stakeholders.

Reporting to the Programmes Manager, you are responsible for organising and prioritising your work as well as supporting your colleagues to deliver their courses and events on time.

Responsibilities
  • Set-up, run and conclude coding courses in your portfolio
  • Communicate with students, instructors and venues to ensure readiness for course launch and smooth running of courses, troubleshooting as and when needed
  • Monitor attendance levels and queries from all partners
  • Close courses, deploy surveys and issue course certificates
  • Fielding feedback from students and instructors to Communities Manager regarding course curricula and experiences
  • Manage course and event-related social media campaigns, newsletters and opportunities in liaison with our media and community partners
  • Ensure our CRM platforms and tracking tools are kept updated and accurate
  • Occasionally, attend course classes or events in London to ensure things are going smoothly and to meet our stakeholders (these are always held on weekday evenings)

Requirements and qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Working knowledge of G-suite tools (email, drive, docs, hangouts, etc.), at least one social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn), and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). We also use CRM/marketing tools (Agile CRM, MailChimp) as well as Typeform, GitHub and Sublime text - you need to be ready and willing to learn to work with these.
  • You do not need to be a developer though some basic coding knowledge/experience and understanding of the key principles will be useful.

You will need to travel sometimes to visit your (evening) courses across the UK (from St Andrews to Southampton and Dublin) and work some evenings and weekends. While we cannot offer overtime pay, we are flexible and do give time off in lieu.

Benefits
  • 20 working days holiday plus 2 full weeks off over Christmas, in addition to all Bank Holidays
  • Guaranteed admittance on our London coding courses and masterclasses
  • Annual trainings
  • Book allowance
  • Contribution to pension scheme

We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage people including from all genders, ethnic and social backgrounds to apply. Our office is wheelchair friendly.

Interested? We hope so!

Please apply here.

Deadline for September start: Monday 19th August, midnight

We will be looking for people who can demonstrate their enthusiasm for our work and their ability to deliver.
You should have the right to live and work in the UK.
